Building Mobile Solutions That Actually Work

We've spent the last eight years figuring out what Hong Kong businesses really need from their mobile apps.

Started in 2017 by a small group who got tired of seeing great ideas fail because of poorly executed mobile solutions. We've worked with everyone from two-person startups to established companies with teams across multiple floors. What we learned is this: most businesses don't need the fanciest tech. They need something reliable that their team will actually use and their customers will appreciate.

Why We Got Into This

Back in early 2017, three of us were working at different software companies around Central. We kept running into the same problem: clients would come to us with real business challenges, and we'd hand them cookie-cutter solutions that didn't quite fit.

One client stands out. A logistics company needed their drivers to update delivery statuses in real-time. Simple enough, right? But the app they had crashed constantly, ate up their data plans, and took forever to load on older phones. Their drivers just stopped using it and went back to phone calls.

That's when we realized there was space for something different. Not flashier or cheaper, but actually tailored to what Hong Kong businesses deal with daily. Poor connectivity in certain areas, teams using a mix of Android and iOS devices, apps that need to work offline because you're in a basement or on the MTR.

What Guides Our Work

These aren't just words on a wall. They're the things we actually talk about when we're deciding how to build something.

Real-World Testing

We test apps in actual Hong Kong conditions. That means checking how they perform on the MTR during rush hour, in buildings with spotty wifi, and on phones that are a few years old. Because that's how your team will use them.

Honest Conversations

If your idea won't work the way you're imagining it, we'll tell you. Not to be difficult, but because we've seen what happens when teams push ahead with the wrong approach. We'd rather have an awkward conversation now than build something that fails later.

Long-Term Thinking

Some of our first clients from 2017 are still working with us. That's not by accident. We build things that can grow with your business and we stick around to help when things need adjusting. Because they always do.

Freya Lindstrom

Joined us in 2019 after working at a fintech startup that burned through three failed app launches. She's the one who instituted our "test it on the MTR" rule after watching an app she'd built freeze repeatedly on her commute home.

Freya handles most of our retail and hospitality clients now. She's particularly good at figuring out what staff actually need versus what management thinks they need. Those two things are often surprisingly different.

Outside work, she volunteers teaching basic coding to secondary school students in Kowloon. And yes, she makes them test their projects on public transport too.

How We Actually Build Things

  • We Start With Questions

First meetings are about understanding your business, not pitching solutions. We want to know what's broken, what you've already tried, and what success looks like to you. Sometimes the answer isn't even an app.

  • Prototypes Before Polish

We build rough working versions fast so you can actually try them. It's easier to fix problems when it's still just a prototype than after we've spent weeks making everything look perfect.

  • Your Team Tests It

We need real users trying the app in their actual work environment. Not in a conference room, but while they're doing their regular jobs. That's where the real problems show up.

  • We Stick Around

After launch, we don't disappear. The first few weeks of real-world use always reveal something that needs adjusting. We expect that and budget time for it.

Working With Hong Kong Businesses

We're based in Central, but we work with companies all over Hong Kong. What matters more than location is whether we're a good fit for your project. We work best with businesses that know they have a real problem to solve and are willing to be involved in the development process.

If you're not sure whether a custom mobile solution makes sense for you, let's talk about it. We'd rather have an honest conversation now than waste your time building something you don't actually need.
